Florida Radiology Technician

A radiologic technician is someone in charge of capturing images of parts of patients' bodies so that their ailments may be diagnosed. A radiologic technician works with and on behalf of doctors and other medical practitioners. The imaging examinations usually consist of x-rays.

A radiologic technician works closely with patients during the imaging process. He or she also works closely with doctors, following directions when necessary and generally providing support for other professionals. Radiologic technicians are usually employed at hospitals, but can also find themselves working at private practices and diagnostic imaging centers.

The radiologic technician field is growing, with job opportunities expected to increase by 17%. When hiring, priority is often given to those candidates who are not only trained and certified for the job, but who are proficient in multiple imaging procedures and technologies. Proper education, therefore, is pivotal to success in the radiologic technician field.
